Freddy, the wiener dog, is a little sneak..... Malibu and Luna haven't been speaking with each other this week. Their chewed up vitamin bottle has been missing the last few days. Each other thought that the other had it. Nope. Freddy ran off with it and put it in his woobie graveyard.
Luna finally discovered it today and brought it back inside. Now that the missing chewed up vitamin bottle has showed up, Malibu and Luna aren't mad at each other anymore. In fact, Malibu is giving Luna the nightly bath than she hasn't done these last few evenings.

And, the angels sang!
Freddy, the wiener dog, just loves his girlfriend Malibu. They are so sweet together. Freddy even lets Malibu share the front seat. Mommy was taking pictures of Freddy and Malibu and - amazingly - took this picture. She's such a pretty girl. And, the angels sang!

"Mother! I refuse to even look at you!"
Freddy, the wiener dog, just loves when his family gets in the pool. Freddy swam in the pool before with the help of his humans. Freddy hates the pool. He much prefers to run and play when his family swims.
Malibu and Luna have not been in the pool before tonight. As usual, Freddy went to dig. "Dig, dig...dig, dig a tunnel." [That's a reference to The Lion King 1½ (also known as The Lion King 3: Hakuna Matata in some countries) if you didn't know it.] Malibu went to hunt for frogs. Luna worried about her humans in the big water hole again. Mommy was in the pool this time. Luna came trotting over to see Mommy. Mommy thought Luna was going to jump in, so Mommy swam to the side of the pool, picked up Luna and carried her into the pool. Mommy held Luna tight to her, but Luna was still very scared.
Luna was terrified when her boys were the pool. She was even more terrified when she was in the pool. Luna became stiff as a board...even her little front legs were sticking straight out in front of her. She refused to doggie paddle. Luna glued her face to Mommy's face. Most of the time, her nose was stuck into one of Mommy's eyes. Luna didn't care; she refused to turn her face or move. Mommy only had Luna in the pool for a couple of minutes, but now Luna is mad - or disappointed - in her Mommy. She refuses to look at Mommy. When Luna needs to turn her head, she makes sure that she looks beyond Mommy and doesn't make eye contact. Ouch!
Eric went swimming too - after Luna was in the pool. Well, Luna hid under the patio furniture. She didn't want to come over to Eric either. Finally, she slowly approached Eric. She stretched that wiener body as loooooong as she could to get a little bit of nose over to Eric. Luna let Eric pet her, but she still stayed a distance away. She did not want to risk anybody getting their hands back on her and into the pool. Then, she ran back underneath the patio furniture.
Everybody is out of the pool and Luna is nowhere to be found. Usually, she's close to Mommy. Now, she's decided to hang out with Daddy or one of the boys. "Mother! I refuse to even look at you!"
P.S. Mommy carried Malibu into the pool too. She was not as scared as Luna, but Malibu did not enjoy it either. Malibu just wanted to get out and hunt for frogs again. Okay, fine.

Freddy doesn't mind sharing the front seat....sort of.
Freddy, the wiener dog, doesn't mind sharing the front seat once in a while. For instance, if any of the boys are in the front seat, then Freddy must be there too. If the front seat is empty, than it must be Freddy.
However, as you know from a previous post, Luna is trying to squeeze Freddy off the front seat. Freddy doesn't like this. Freddy loves sharing the front seat with Malibu. She's his girlfriend, and she's not big enough to shove Freddy off the seat.

Poor Luna, she's so worried.
Freddy, the wiener dog refused to get into the car for car-line so Mommy left without him. Malibu was out chasing frogs and didn't want to be bothered so Mommy left without her too. Luna, however, was quick to jump into the car so Mommy took her.
Luna was so happy to ride in the car to car-line, but she was so nervous that she was by herself. Luna stayed worried until Eric and Eamon showed up and climbed into the car. After that, she had lots of boy attention and enjoyed the ride home.

"Steven, get over here!"
Freddy, the wiener dog, wanted Steven to sit with him on the chair and watch TV. Steven had just woken up and sat at a computer. The chair and computer are within line of sight of each other. Freddy stood there for a couple of minutes barking on and off at Steven. It was a very loud and sharp bark. "Steven, get over here!"

Freddy's going to have a Big Day!
Freddy, the wiener dog, is excited about all the activity at the house. He knows it means good things.... Today one of his humans is turning 15. That's means cake and lots of visitors! He's a Ready Freddy!

Freddy is crazy for car-line!
Freddy, the wiener dog, was bonkers for car-line this morning. B.o.n.k.e.r.s! He wanted to get in the car since he woke up. He followed Mommy around the house, whining at her. If Mommy sat down, then Freddy whap, whap, whapped Mommy's knee with his little strong paws.
When Mommy said, "Okay, who wants to go to car-line?", Freddy ran to the backdoor, loudly barking all the way. As Freddy and the girls got close to the car, Freddy started alligator snapping at the girls as they ran by! Mommy couldn't tell if it was "Me first" or "Get in the car NOW!" It was probably "me first."
Once they were in the car, though, Freddy wouldn't settle down. He was on edge and ready to leap and bark at everything. Mommy finally had to put Freddy in her lap. Diva.

Freddy goes hiking in the Fla. woods.
Freddy, the wiener dog, went hiking in a wildlife management area on Lake Jesup. Freddy was a little reluctant from the beginning. It was a hot, dry day. Freddy would stop and rest in shady spots.
Of course, he used his long hound dog snout to smell everything. Freddy was fascinated with certain ones. For instance, you could see where an armadillo dug but Freddy wasn’t interested in that. Freddy was very interested in where the wild hog had been rooting in the ground.
Daddy carried Freddy up to the top of the observation tower. Freddy walked around the top of the tower and smelled very last corner and board. It’s a wooden observation tower about 40 feet high and overlooking Lake Jesup. The tower was the halfway point. Freddy was much happier leaving the tower. Even though they took a different path back, Freddy definitely knew they were headed back to the truck.
As they got more than halfway back to the truck from the tower, Freddy decided it was time to run! Freddy was the first one back to the truck. He had to wait another ten minutes for the boys and their friends to arrive. Freddy prefers leading the pack, his pack.

Freddy hogs all the pillows.
Freddy, the wiener dog, loves sleeping on Mommy and Daddy's pillows. No problem, except when Mommy or Daddy wants to use them. Mommy had just created a big pile of pillows. She was going to lean back, relax, and enjoy reading a book. Freddy, however, thought differently. Mommy step away for just a second or two for her book. When she turned back, Freddy had climbed onto the big pile for sleeping. He won.
NO growling at Mommy!
Freddy, the wiener dog, was lounging on the bed for afternoon nap. So far, none of the doggies had fallen asleep. Malibu was playing with her retrieved chewed up vitamin bottle from Luna, who had previously taken it from Malibu. Luna was unhappy without her vitamin bottle.
Suddenly, Luna jumped up, started wagging her tail, trotted down the doggie stairs and across the room. Mommy hadn't noticed another plastic jar until Luna discovered it. Luna happily came back up the doggie stairs and onto the bed to play with this new plastic container. Unfortunately for Luna, it was a Nutella jar. Mommy was going to let Luna chew on the lid for a couple of minutes and then take it away. Mommy won't risk any of the doggies' eating chocolate.
Mommy started the usual teasing of Luna, who playfully growled back and played tug-of-war with the plastic jar. Unfortunately, again for Luna, she growled a little too forcefully. Mommy knew Luna was still playing, but both Freddy and Malibu jumped up and came running to give Luna a warning for growling at Mommy. Freddy just came over and barked loudly in her ear (that always stops Luna from whatever she's doing). But, Malibu went bonkers. She attacked Luna's head and neck ready for a fight. There was a brief tussle. Malibu then ran over and grabbed Luna's left hind leg and wouldn't let go. Malibu apparently wanted to make sure that Luna wouldn't growl at Mommy again.
Mommy tried to smooth things over, but nobody wanted to budge an inch. Freddy was still leaning over Luna, barking at her. Malibu still had a hold of Luna's leg. Luna was still hanging onto the plastic jar. Finally, everybody settled back down and Mommy quickly took the chocolate jar away from Luna. Whew!

"I refuse to get out of the car."
Freddy, the wiener dog, waits until Mommy picks up her purse and keys and Mommy tells him to get into the car before he'll actually walk over to it. He's not going to waste time and energy for a false alarm.
Luna, however, will jump into the car whenever Mommy gets near it - like, when she's getting something out of the car, like a book or groceries. In fact, whenever Mommy opens her car for anything at all, Luna jumps in. Luna doesn't cooperate when getting back out. She stays for as long as it takes so she's comfortable with the possibility that Mommy is not actually leaving in the car. Only then will Luna jump down.

Oh, no! Timmy fell down the well!
Freddy, the wiener dog, loves summer. His favorite part is swimming!! No, Freddy hates the water. But, he loves when his humans go swimming. The best part of swimming is jumping and splashing. Luna, however, is different.
The boys enjoyed their first swim of the year. (Thank goodness this year they didn’t start swimming in February!) Eric was the first to jump into the pool. Luna frantically ran over, ready to pull Eric out of the water. Luna did the same thing again when Mark and then Steven jumped into the pool. Luna was terrified the boys were in the pool.
Luna ran back and forth from hiding under Mommy’s chair to the water’s edge. Eventually Luna jumped onto the patio loveseat. Mommy noticed that Luna was shivering! When Nana arrived, she tried to calm Luna down too. But, Luna was just too upset. Luna wasn’t happy until the boys came out of the pool.

Freddy brags about his human brother.
Bu and Eric |
One boy, in particular, was refusing to leave his bus. When Eric hopped out of the car, there was a huge relief on the teacher’s face. She said, “Look! It’s Eric! Why don’t you take Eric’s hand and walk to class?” The little boy ran over to Eric, took his hand, and lined up for class. Freddy watched the little boy walk down the sidewalk with Eric. The little boy looked up adoringly at Eric the entire way into the school. What’s really cute is that the boy’s name is also Eric, so he’s called “Little Eric” and Freddy’s Eric is called “Big Eric.”
Freddy, of course, did not bark during all this commotion. Freddy doesn’t like the buses and barks at the drivers. Sometimes Freddy will even bark at the children on the sidewalk. But, Freddy doesn’t bark at these children. Freddy knows these are very, very special children and he never scares them with barking. Just like with Steven’s friend Josh, Freddy knows who needs extra love.

Poor, poor Freddy.
Freddy, the wiener dog, was peacefully resting on his favorite chair when along came Luna. She climbed on top of Freddy and slowly started pushing him off his chair. He tried to hold his ground, but eventually she shoved him off. Poor, poor Freddy.

Freddy, play nice!
Freddy, the wiener dog, loves his woobies. Freddy doesn't like to share his woobies. Maibu has never cared about Freddy's woobies. Malibu cares about digging holes, playing with her toad friends, and chasing lizards. But, that hasn't stopped Freddy from protecting his woobies, at all cost.
When it was time for car-line, the doggies were outside. Mommy yelled "car-line!" and Freddy dropped his polar bear woobie into the nearest Malibu hole...which is pretty deep. Upon returning from car-line, Malibu runs to her closest hole to start digging and search for frogs again. Malibu happens to climb on top of Freddy's polar bear woobie because it was at the bottom of her hole. Freddy sees this and freaks! He runs over, gets a tight grip on the woobie, and with a couple of good yanks pulls the woobie out from underneath Malibu. This causes Malibu to fall deeper into the hole and land on her face.
Malibu is Freddy's girlfriend. He's never been rude to Malibu...until now. Freddy, play nice!
