Freddy's Thanksgiving

I'm so full.... When's breakfast?
Freddy, the wiener dog, wishes everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.  Freddy spent the day at Old Man Spotty's house.  He spent most of the time fussing at everybody at the table.  The food was excellent, but Freddy's favorite was the turkey.

The best part of the day was when Freddy whined so loudly that Daddy picked him up.  Most of family didn't have food anymore, but two people had leftover pie crust on their plates.  Freddy gave those two an eagle-eyed stare.  His cousin suggested covering them up with a napkin so he wouldn't know it was there.  Mommy said that Freddy's big snout could smell that pie crust without the napkin.  Funny.

He started and ended the day the same way...sleeping. But, a very happy Doxie.

Morning Walk

Freddy is the leader!
Freddy, the wiener dog, and his female companions went for a morning walk. They had some time off while Freddy's sprained leg healed. Freddy likes to run on his walks. We tried walking when his leg was still recovering and Freddy was the most pathetic sight, trying to hop/run with that bad leg. Unfortunately, it was timed when the girls were spayed. They were putting on weight, so we had to get all of the dogs back on Freddy's health plan...diet and exercise. Freddy has to be the leader on walks, of course. No incidents. We didn't even see other dogs or people. There was one big black-and-white cat lounging under a car. Malibu decided to lead the Charge of the Light Brigade, but Mommy didn't let them get very far. The cat never cared.

Upon their return, Freddy went hunting in the front bushes for lizards. Malibu went hunting for toads. Freddy didn't have any luck with lizards, but Malibu found a toad. As soon as possible, Daisy took the toad away and hid it from Malibu. Perhaps Daisy dumped it in one of the big flower pots on the porch... That's where Malibu kept checking for it, but the pots were too tall for Malibu. Freddy's okay not finding any lizards. He likes the hunt and hanging out with his Daddy, who was spraying for weeds.

Pleasant morning. Gorgeous weather.

Freddy's favorite hunting grounds.

The hunter
Pretty girl.
Freddy, the wiener dog, has favorite hunting grounds...in the front yard. The bushes along the front of the house are full of lizards! Freddy doesn't usually share these hunting grounds. He's never showed them to Daisy or Old Man Spotty. But, now, he showed them to Malibu. The two of them go bounding along, hoping from bush to bush looking for lizards. The best part is when you can only see tails wagging in the bushes.
Let's check it out!

What's in here?

Mr. Toad's Wild Ride Continues

"Oh, look! Another toad!"
Freddy, the wiener dog, dislikes toads. He ignores them. He avoids them. Not Malibu. She can't stay away from toads. She found another toad today. Once again, Daisy tried to save it. And, once again, Mommy couldn't get a picture of Malibu's running toward her with a toad...She was too busy screaming and running away.

"I'll hide it."
"Get away from my toad."
"Stop trying to save my toad."

"Fine. I'll hide it somewhere else."

"Dang! Now I have to find another one."
"Daisy will never look here."

Clash of the Titans!

That was my seat.
It's mine now.
Freddy, the wiener dog, loves his Daddy. Freddy really likes watching TV with Daddy and going on car rides. The best spot in the big truck is right next to Daddy, and Freddy doesn't share. Even if there are three people sitting on the bench seat, Freddy still squeezes between Daddy and the next person. Until Malibu. We still have to lift Freddy into the truck first or he gets upset. Diva. Well, Freddy calls shotgun next to Daddy and gets into position even if Daddy hasn't gotten in the truck yet. Until Malibu. Mommy could be sitting in the truck too, but Malibu wants Freddy's shotgun position. She'll jump into Daddy's lap and then squeeze between Freddy and Daddy. If Freddy is a second too slow getting into position, then Malibu will hop over him and lay down next to Daddy's seat. Freddy doesn't look happy about it, but he will not challenge Malibu for that spot and he lets her have it! If Daddy gets out of the truck, then Freddy will try to take the position back from Malibu, which is silly because then Daddy has to move Freddy out of the way so Daddy can sit down and drive. Mommy can't tell if Freddy's being a gentleman, has feelings for Malibu, or is afraid to challenge Malibu. She's a Diva too.

My Daddy. My seat.

I need it.

A sleeping Freddy...and his sisters.

Freddy's on the left. He matches the blanket."
All curled up together.
Freddy, the wiener dog, climbed on top of Mommy's big bed and took the best spot for sleeping. Shortly after that Malibu climbed onto the bed and choose her favorite spot. Then, Daisy comes into the room. Not wanting to be left out, Daisy jumped onto the bed, stomped on the pillows, nearly missed stepping on Freddy and Malibu, and choose a spot where she could snuggle with the others. She used Freddy's rear-end as a pillow, and she rested her jaw and leg on Malibu. Daisy's a big, heavy girl. It's really quite funny to watch Freddy drag himself out from underneath Daisy... Good thing Freddy's a long wiener dog and can stretch that spine way out. Later, Mark took Freddy [to keep the monsters away], so Malibu settled into a more protected spot in the pillows. Daisy has to sleep in the boys' room, but she keeps going back and forth between rooms.

Freddy likes his food!

"I don't care what it is.. just give me some!"
Freddy, the wiener dog, likes his food! When Mommy came home from the volleyball game, Freddy hadn't received any little nimbles off a plate. He's not a dog! Daddy came over to talk to Mommy, and so did Freddy. Freddy started to freak, so Mommy said, "WHAT?! You need a treat?" Freddy looked like he almost did a back-flip. I guess that sprained ankle is doing better.....

Freddy loves car rides! Daisy, not so much.

Only Freddy sits next to Daddy.
Mom, I got sick.
Freddy, the wiener dog, loves car rides... to anywhere... especially with his Daddy. Daddy uses a car repair shop on the other side of town, so it takes 30+ minutes to drive each way. Freddy loves this. Daisy, not so much. Freddy and Daisy went with Mommy and Daddy to pick up Daddy's monster truck. Mommy told Daddy to leave Daisy home because Daisy gets carsick. Daddy wouldn't listen. Daddy put Freddy in the backseat of the car. This hurt Freddy's feelings. He's always supposed to ride up front, especially with his Daddy. And, of course, Freddy was even more upset when Daddy left Freddy in the car when he went inside to pay for his repairs. *Gasp!* [Mommy would have taken Freddy inside.] Wait! It gets worse. Daisy drooled on Freddy on the drive over. Oh yeah. Freddy was very, very unhappy about that. After getting his truck, Freddy and Daisy rode back home with Daddy. Freddy sat in his special place next to Daddy. Daisy laid down on the back seat. Daisy drooled all the way home too. But, before they could get home, Daisy vomited...in Daddy's truck. Mommy thinks this is incredibly funny. Freddy gets grossed out and disgusted when the other dogs do something uncivilized that he, Freddy, would never do! Oh, oh! I must tell you about the time that Malibu got into the truck with Freddy and Daddy and she took Freddy's special seat next to Daddy.............

Freddy hurt his leg!

Poor Freddy
Freddy, the wiener dog, hurt his front left leg, probably sprained it. It hurts so much that he doesn't want to put any weight on it. He can barely walk and sort of slowly shuffles along. How did he hurt it? Well, our best guess is that it was (1) when he attacked Tank or (2) when he flew thru the yard smelling everything Tank touched, smelled or peed on. Yeah, Daisy had another playdate today. When Tank arrived, Freddy wasn't locked up. Freddy was thrilled to chase Tank, who thought Freddy's crazier than Malibu. All because Tank touched a woobie.....

Fighting over Mommy's shoe.

Freddy, the wiener dog, watched in disgust as Daisy and Malibu fought over Mommy's shoe. Mommy has an old pair of biff-about shoes that she likes to wear around the house. Daisy has been chewing on the shoes and its laces since she arrived. She decided to chew on the left shoe, again. Malibu came over and took the shoe away so she could chew on it! This caused a fight. Mommy wasn't aware what was happening until she heard growling - It was Malibu. Daisy tried to hang in there, but Malibu's feisty and she won. Freddy was annoyed thru the entire thing, and if either one (or the shoe) got to close to him, then he'd snap back. He hates being involved when the two girls are fighting over accessories.
