Freddy, the wiener dog, likes traveling with us, and we go to the beach often. There are two problems at the beach for Mini Dachshunds – small children and big dogs. Small children think he’s a moving stuffed animal and want to pick him up…It’s not easy for a child to pick up a looooong Dachshund. They try to pick up Freddy by his tummy, like a regular dog. But, Freddy has a big, heavy chest and he flops over and falls. It kinda looks like they’re wrestling with a wet noodle. It’s not fun for the doggie. So, now Freddy dislikes small children…at least at the beach.
