Attack of the Akita!
Watching for big doggies.
A bigger problem at the beach for Freddy, the wiener dog, is bigger dogs. It’s quite an adventure just walking Freddy to and from the beach. Big dogs either think a Mini Dachshund is a toy, or something to kill. Recently we went to the beach. There were no doggie problems walking down to the water, coming back was different. There was an Akita tied up with a long lead and being ignored by its owners. Even from a distance, you could see the Akita’s eyes looked crazed….a psycho who wanted to kill that little dog. Freddy noticed too. Long before we reached the Akita, Jeff picked up Freddy and held him up. This made the Akita angrier because he had to reach further and higher to get that little doggie. The Akita was jumping and snarling, growling and barking, straining against his rope to break free! Jeff walked as far into the surf as he could to remain out of the Akita’s attack distance. The Akita went bonkers. Freddy and his two-legged family were truly frightened. The Akita continued his growling, barking and snapping until Freddy was safely over the dunes. What a day!
